02/10/2025

Lahore’s centuries-old Kamran Ki Baradari is set for a big restoration and makeover after new orders from the provincial housing department. The Mughal-era monument, located on the banks of the River Ravi, will soon regain its old charm and become more tourist-friendly.

During a recent site visit, Secretary Housing Noor-ul-Amin Mengal checked the area, while PHA Director General Mansoor Ahmad explained the full restoration and maintenance plan.

The new plan includes restaurants, picnic spots, and gardens around the historic site. A new access road will make it easier for visitors to reach the monument.

Tourists will also have the option of boat rides to reach Kamran Ki Baradari, turning it into a fun recreational spot. A museum will be built to showcase the monument’s history and Mughal heritage.

According to Housing Department spokesperson Mansoor Ahmad, the long-neglected Baradari will finally regain its lost glory. He also said that conservation projects for heritage sites across Lahore are now being completed faster.

The PHA Director General has been asked to ensure the project is finished quickly, working closely with all relevant departments.
