Pakistan PSDP 2025 Spending Reaches Rs76 Billion

The federal government spent nearly Rs76 billion on development projects in the first four months of the fiscal year 2025–26, showing early progress in Pakistan PSDP 2025 spending. This shows that much of the money set aside for development is still waiting to be spent.

According to data from the Planning Ministry, the total Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) allocation for 2025–26 is Rs1 trillion. Of this, the government had approved Rs330.43 billion, and actual spending from July to October reached Rs75.97 billion.

Federal ministries received Rs682.26 billion in total, with Rs53.93 billion spent during the same period. Some ministries spent more actively than others, showing where the government focused its early development efforts.

Pakistan PSDP 2025 Spending Overview

The Water Resources Division spent Rs13.56 billion from its total allocation of Rs128.90 billion, with Rs45.41 billion authorized. The Finance Division used Rs78.06 million out of Rs851.58 million, while Provinces and Special Areas spent Rs16.48 billion from their Rs253.33 billion allocation.

Higher Education and Training Expenditures

Higher Education Commission (HEC) spending reached Rs5.21 billion against an allocation of Rs41.66 billion, and the Federal Education and Professional Training Division spent Rs4.83 billion from Rs18.58 billion.

Railways and Planning Division Spending

Railways Division recorded Rs4.32 billion in spending from Rs22.42 billion, while the Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Division used Rs3.91 billion from Rs23.27 billion.

Defence and Technology Sector Allocations

The Defence Division spent Rs1.09 billion out of Rs11.91 billion, and the Information Technology and Telecommunication Division used Rs474.74 million from Rs16.23 billion. The Housing and Works Division spent Rs518.83 million from Rs16.31 billion.

Federal Corporations and Infrastructure Investment

Among federal corporations, total allocations were Rs317.74 billion. Of this, Rs111.21 billion was approved and Rs22.04 billion spent. The National Highway Authority (NHA) used most of these funds, spending Rs20.17 billion out of Rs226.98 billion, while the Power Division (NTDC/PEPCO) spent Rs1.87 billion from Rs90.76 billion.
