The Punjab government has announced plans to establish a state-of-the-art diagnostic laboratory in Lahore.
The facility will provide all major medical tests to people of Punjab under one roof.
An official spokesperson said that efforts will be made to ensure faster, more reliable, and affordable healthcare services through this initiative for patients across the province.
The decision of setting up the lab was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Communications and Works, Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharath.
Senior officials from the Specialized Healthcare Department, C&W Department, and other related agencies attended the meeting and gave a detailed briefing on the project’s scope and progress.
14-Story Facility to Offer All Medical Tests in One Place
Officials informed the minister that the proposed 14-story diagnostic lab would be equipped with modern medical technology and advanced testing equipment.
The lab will provide comprehensive diagnostic services — covering all types of medical tests — to ensure patients can access quality healthcare without delays or complications.
Chief Minister Orders Immediate Action
During the meeting, Minister Sohaib Ahmad Bharath emphasized that Chief Minister Punjab had directed authorities to begin work immediately on the project, which will be built on Jail Road, Lahore.
He instructed all departments to complete the necessary paperwork and identify the site without delay, so that construction can begin as soon as possible.
Improving Public Health Infrastructure
Officials said the new diagnostic center will mark a major step forward in Punjab’s healthcare system — reducing patient load at hospitals, standardizing medical testing, and bringing world-class health facilities within reach of the general public.
The Punjab government’s initiative reflects its broader vision to modernize health services and ensure timely diagnosis and treatment for all citizens.
